Magh Éne College, Co. Donegal with architect Paddy Dunne

Transition year students from Magh Éne College, recently took part in a collaborative design workshop with architect Paddy Dunne, as part of our Architects in Schools programme.

The theme of the students project is to ”link water sports with our school,” as it is located in a coastal area where sea sports are prominent all year round. Students were particularly interested in this idea as they have been brought up near the sea and as it is a common activity during the weekends and summer especially. The target audience for this theme consisted of the population of nearby towns and Bundoran itself.

The second theme is ”An outdoor recreational area” where students can eat their lunch, socialize and much more. The students already have an indoor ”Den” where they sit at lunch and breaktime as a ‘chillout” area. The students wanted to expand on this and create one for younger First and Second year students.
